Where my pitches at?!

Should I be embarrassed that my very first league happens to be when I'm 30 and it's kickball?

Let's just say, Thursday nights are a complete blast thanks to kickball.
We have an awesome team and just yell and laugh our guts out.
Our current standing our 5-2 and 5th in the league out of 24 teams.

We have one more game in regular season and to the playoffs we go!
Let's go, Pitches!

A night with my boys

It's no secret that I love my boys and hitting the town with them.
We love when Matt is in town and we take full advantage of any time we have with him.
Sometimes you redo a picture from a year prior.
I think we nailed it.

It is never a dull moment with these gents.
Especially this one.
Shane was my date all night.

We look a little rough at this point.
We had been dancing for a while and were hot messes.
I sure love these boys and love that they always let me join them.

Just Dance

Some weekends we are like Lady Gaga and just dance.
We danced hard this night.
Grateful for friends that like to go out on the dance floor with me.

Bombay House Addicts

We seriously may have a problem.
Daph and I rediscovered our love for Bombay House.
We go there weekly.
They know us.
It is slightly embarrassing.
But not enough for us to stop.

Ry'lee has joined in the fun more than once.
She's not convinced on the nan bread.
We think she is crazy.

This night just happened.
People just kept calling to see what we were doing and suddenly our party went from 2 to 6.
Fun night.

2 highly medicated girls.
3 girls in stretch pants.
3 boys that just laughed at us.
6 full bellies by the end of the night.

My Phoenix family

(me, Melinda, Jenni & Matt)
When you work 40+ hours a week for 7+ years you build a family.
These three are some of my nearest and dearest.
Melinda is now staying home with her cutest boys.
Jenni is now in San Diego living the beach life with her family.
And Matt is in California as well.

It has been a couple of years since all four of us were able to be in the same place at the same time.
We didn't skip a beat and picked up right were we left off.
As much as I miss seeing this people on a daily basis at work,
I'm grateful for the friendships that have been made.
They are lifelong friends.

Look who's back… back again…..

Josh is back... back in town!
I really have a love hate relationship with the state of California.
I love going there.
But I hate that it is stealing all my friends to move there.

I received a phone call in the middle of my day from this handsome fella.
I was fully expecting to hear ocean waves in the back ground.
Nope.
He was here.
I was able to see Joshua and the crew all weekend long.
Quality friend, right here.

Valentines weekend

My dear friend Matt and I have been talking how we needed to spend  Valentines weekend together.
He was great enough and made it happen.

He flew in Saturday.
Dalton and I picked him up and headed straight to Shane's house.
From there the fun began.
It was me and the boys.
Dancing.
Laughing.
And having a good time.

Before we knew it was 4:00am.
Somehow that always happens when Matt is in town.

It was a great weekend spent with Matt.
I really miss him.
Thank goodness for technology and airlines so it helps make it seem
like we are not hours apart from each other.

Sending 2013 off with a bang

2013.  The Year of Boldness.
There is only one way to end a year named that.

My friend, Cristina came up from Phoenix to ring in the New Year. We started our evening at the Porcupine Grill.
Headed to the Tasting Room to join some friends for a party.

Then I couldn't start 2014 without spending time with Matt before he headed back west the next day.
So Cristina and I headed over and danced the morning away with Matt, Shane and Dalton.
Best decision ever.
We had so much fun.
So much laughing.
So much dancing.
So much sweating.
Since Matt was leaving bright n' early on New Years to drive back we couldn't just let him leave without a proper brunch.
Even if brunch was at 3:00am, at Dee's.
We laughed our guts out until 4:30am when we all called it a successful New Years Celebration.

Hands down.  One of the best New Years ever.

2014 has to be incredible with a start like that.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire

I have waited for quite sometime for the next installment of Hunger Games.
Catching Fire on the big screen exceeded my expectations.
It was great and just how I pictured it in my head from reading the book.
That is always the best.
Jason, Ashley, Daph, Dan and I all braved an 11:30pm showing.
Seemed like a good idea... until the next morning.

Do we really have to wait another 2 years for the first installment of the Mockingjay?

To Phoenix, but not for work

Sometimes you plan a trip to Phoenix and you don't have to go for work.  (corporate headquarters are there)
Jason is from Phoenix and was nice enough to take me to his stomping grounds.
And I was lucky enough to be able to spend time with Cristina and Ry'lee.
Met both of these girls in Lake Powell 2012 and love them both dearly.
Wish they both didn't live in Phoenix.
Although, thanks for technology, I talked to them daily.
I love traveling and being able to see friends I don't get to on a daily basis.
As much as I love traveling.
I love being home and sure have enjoyed the last 2 weekends home.
Finally.

Ragnar: Saints to Sinners

Sometimes you make dumb decisions and commit to another Ragnar.
I blame the double medal.
If you run Ragnar: Wasatch Back and Ragnar: Vegas in the same year, you get the Saints to Sinner medal.
Stupid medal.
Because seeing this sign 3 different times... doesn't make anyone happy.
I convinced my dear friend, Keri to run with me.
She had never done a Ragnar or actually heard much about it.
She was a champ.
She was a saint.
I would have poked my eyes out without this darling gal.
We all rode in one van, so that left limited room.
We will told to pack light.
Keri and I did just that.
Which left us wandering the streets of Vegas in our sweats.
Classy.
We had a 3:00am wake up call and were at the starting line at 4:30am.
Talk about early.
Because Keri and I were runner 11&12.
Which meant, we had a good 12 hours until our first run.
That left us to entertain ourselves.
Tats were obviously a good choice.
Shows we are tough.
Hardcore.
And lots and lots of pictures.
And SnapChats. (Sorry, if you were the receiver of all the pictures and videos)
And Bubble Gum Blowing contests.
Keri is hands down the winner.
Every time.
We had so much fun that during a dance party, right before my first run, this happened.
Makes for a fun story.
And it is just my luck.
When someone gets up at 3:00am and doesn't sleep much the night before, you get a little crazy.
This was at 8:00pm. It easily felt like 3:00am.
Keri and I took our turn driving and entertained ourselves and the entire van.
We survived by always having a coke after every run.
As Keri says, "It's a life style."
Our 2nd run, was in the middle of the night.
I started my run at 3:15am.
It was a quick 3 miler, but I was exhausted and so excited to be able to sleep some without having to worry about a run in a couple of hours.
We passed out and woke up refreshed and ready to go!

This picture makes me laugh, so hard.
Keri was snapping and so was I.
I turned to show her in my video and this was the face I got.
Love this picture.
It's a framer.
This was right before my final run.
My last run was scheduled to be 7.3 miles of intense hills.
But Ragnar lied and it was almost 8.5 miles.
It tested me mentally and physically.
I had never been so happy to see a finish line and my team there to run in with me.

We finished!
This one was a little more fulfilling because I was able to run better because I wasn't dealing with a torn ligament.
Thankfully my knee didn't bother me at all this time.
It has pushed me to do things that I normally don't enjoy.
I don't enjoy running, but I do feel accomplished after.

I am thankful everyday for Keri.
She is a gift from my Zach and is my rock.
I'm so glad we did this together and were able to be nut jobs in the back of the van together.
Ragnar Vegas: See you... NEVER!

A night with my favorite California boy

All of my boys, together.
Couldn't be happier.
When this boy is town, you know it is going to be a great weekend.
Salt Lake is not the same without Matt here.
Makes you realize how great of people you have in your life that you get so use to seeing everyday, that when they leave it is miserable.
Can't wait until November when he will be in town again.

Farewell Adrienne

My dear sweet friend, Adrienne, is moving back home to New Zealand.
This girl is nothing short of incredible.
She is a person that leaves you a better person.
I have loved her friendship more than I can ever say.
I will miss seeing her smile as I am teaching at the Business College as she is walking by.
The best Voxer messages.
And our meals at Blue Lemon.
She is quality.
Wish her home wasn't so far away.

I was able to celebrate her farewell a couple of different days.
So grateful for people like her in my life.
She will be a forever friend!
