YES!

I'm an acoustic loving fool.
Add in Jason Mraz and my girls from Raining Jane in a great venue.
AND a hot date.
Best Friday night ever.

I couldn't be more proud of these lovely ladies.
They are so talented and even more so kind.
They deserve all the fame and success they are receiving.
Glad to say Rach and I were the first people to book them in Utah.

Katy Kats for a night

I'm not ashamed to say I love Katy Perry.
Both Bricannie and I do.
We have planned to go to this concert all year.
But thanks to it being sold out the minute the tickets went on sale, delayed us getting tickets.
Thankfully, Blake worked his magic and we scored great floor seats.
We were singing and dancing our little hearts out.
And then the next day we felt like death.
We are too old to rock out on a Monday night.

Keith Urban came "Back to me"

Keith Urban is my musical boyfriend.
I have seen him in concert more times than I can count (2013, 2011, 2009 have all been documented on the blog)

He hasn't been back to Utah since 2009.
I was happy when I saw his tour announcement and he would be stopping in SLC.
The stars were aligned and I was selected for a meet & greet.
Let's just say, I was super nervous.
He was so kind.
Called me "baby"
And gave me the best hug.

Needless to say the concert was great.
Cristina came up from Phoenix to join the Keith Urban party.
We had pit "seats".
We were right in front of the stage and couldn't have asked for a better place to see him.

Sophia started hinting around the week of the concert.
Turns out I had an extra ticket.
So we declared her birthday celebration a little early this year.
Hopefully she remembers how much fun she had when October 30th rolls around.
My mom and dad even joined the party in the pit and I turned around and saw this face.
Priceless!

 This concert did not disappoint.
Meeting Keith and then watching him perform for 2.5 hours was a pretty fantastic night in my books.

Lady Gaga

You gotta love when you receive phone calls from your besties, boyfriend with tickets to Lady Gaga.
Am I the biggest Gaga fan?  No.
Did you put on a fantastic concert?  YES!
We had a great time together and Ashley's Little Monster was rocking with all of us Big Monsters.

Sara Bareilles

Oh Sara.  You speak to my soul.
If you even remotely like her stuff on the radio, you will LOVE her live.
I prefer her live stuff more than her studio records.
She is talented, funny and girl can sing.

I am a person that really relates to music.
And I feel like sometimes she is in my head when she writes her songs.

So glad I have fun friends that always go to concerts.

three white girls at Lauryn Hill

Summer time in Utah is the absolute best.
There is lots of boating.
Patio dining.
and many outdoor concerts.

Megan, Daph and I all went to the first Twilight concert of the summer.
Lauryn Hill has been a favorite of mine since I was in high school.
Her voice won me over in Sister Act 2.

She may not like white people.
But we didn't care.
We hung out with all the youngsters that have never heard of here before.

Hopefully, I will be able to hit up a couple more concerts at the park before the cold weather creeps in.

Lord Huron

If there is live music... I am in.
I got a phone call from Todd letting me know they are coming in town and he already got me a ticket.
We went.
We listened to Lord Huron.
We had a great night.

It's been a about a year since I saw them last
They are great live.
It's been fun seeing my friends in San Fran and San Diego all post about them too.
They are hitting the west coast pretty hard.
Can't wait until their next show.

Lady Antebellum

I love concert.
I love country.
I love girls nights out.

Bricannie and I planned on going to the Lady A concert months ago.
I actually forgot we purchased tickets so it was a nice surprise when we remembered.
We laughed the entire night.
My stomach actually hurt several times because we were belly laughing.

Lady Antebellum put on a great show.
They sound just as good live as they do on their albums.
Bric and I are already counting down until our next concert together....
Keith Urban AND Katy Perry!

2013: Recap

The reason I started this blog was to keep up with some dear friends that moved across the country.
Now, it is for me.
I like to be able to look back at things that I have done or places of my life.
I have always done a recap of the year. (2010, 2011, 2012)
Last year, I did a video.
It's even more fun to watch and remember certain moments of the year.

Here is 2013's Recap, video style.

2013 has been a year of growth for me.
I'm proud to say I have learned a lot and ready to put the lessons into actions.

Here is to 2014.

A night with Ani DiFranco

One of Jason's favorite music artist is Ani DiFranco.
She came to town two weekends ago.
She puts on a great concert.

We love Colorado

If 12 hours to drive to Vegas and back wasn't enough fun in the car,
Jason and I decided we needed to go to Colorado the following weekend.
Okay, the truth is I decided that I needed to see Keith Urban at Red Rocks again
and he came like the best friend he is.
We left late Thursday night and drove half way and stayed and then drove into to Denver the next morning.
Mr and Mrs Best (that is what the front desk kept calling us.  Ha) checked into the hotel, got ready and it was go time to meet my family for dinner and then the concert.

I'm so happy my parents and Julie & RD came to join the fun!
All of us had so much fun and had great seats.
Jason and I were on the 10th row and had a blast the entire show.
Jenn was a little sad that Jason was my Keith Urban buddy for this concert so we kindly Facetimed her so she could enjoy part of the show with us!
If the concert it self wasn't good enough, Keith always comes out in the audience.
Well earlier in the show he came on the other side of the audience.
Without fail, it happens that he is always straight across from me.
We noticed some movement on our aisle and the very last song he came 8 rows behind me and played.
I did not hesitate for one second and followed right behind him and was right next to him as he played.

Keith is my main squeeze.
I love everything about him.
So with being this close, maybe I couldn't control myself and had to give him a little squeeze.

THE hand that touched him.
This was by far one of my favorite concerts.
He played for 2.5 hours and you can't beat a concert under the stars at Red Rocks.
The next day we met up with my parents and went to the Denver Aquarium.
We had a great time spending time with my parents.
I sure love them!
Sunday we went to Boulder and explored the city.
Such a fun time.
There were several street fairs going on that day so we wandered through.
The great thing about us, that it doesn't take much to entertain us.

We found ourselves at this amazing roof top patio.
We sat at talked and ended up being extreme life sized jenga.
The competition got intense and we had quite the crowd watching.
I'm sad to report, I ended up losing the competition.
It was close and I'm not sure how the game kept going?
Jason is the proud winner and we left a little piece of us on the game!

This may have been one of the best trips of 2013.
We had no planned agenda with the exception of the concert.
With people I love.
The weather was perfect.
Perfect escape from reality.

Until next time, Denver.
