Home makeover

I've lived in my house for 6 years now and constantly trying to keep things up to date.
The latest two projects were painting my kitchen cupboards and window casings and shutters.
The kitchen was a breeze.
I hired a company and all I had to do is pack up my kitchen and write the check.
Totally worth it.

The window casings on the other hand were A LOT of work.
Thanks for the wood having imperfections it added a lot of extra work.
But now that everything is all said and done.
I absolutely love it.
It brightens my whole house.

(I forgot to take a before picture. But they were oak cabinets)

This window happens to be my favorite now.
I covered the top arch and just made it a bigger casing.
total win.

The next project will be a backsplash in the kitchen.... I just need to figure out what I want.
Hopefully it is a breeze too unlike the window casings.
The joys of home owning!

Finally comin' along...

After being in my house for almost three years, I have finally finished the upstairs family room/kitchen area.  (that is until I start a kitchen remodel to add a back splash)
Thanks for my mama's wonderful old tables that she was finished with at her place and a few cans of paint I have two new additions to my house and couldn't be happier with them.

I also finally went and picked our material to recover my pillows on my couch.  They turned out really fun too.

Happy late Birthday!

Happy late Birthday to me!
My dear sweet sister, Julie painted this gem for me for my birthday.
I couldn't be happier for this new addition to my home.
I need to find some fun paper to put in the drawer windows but other than that it looks amazing!

Thank you Mom & Dad for getting a new table for your house and passing on your treasures.
and a BIG SHOUT out to my Papa for driving it down to me late last night and helping me move some stuff in my house!

I have the best family ever!

My Fall's been a Ball so far

I have had quite a busy fall between birthdays, Gabe's soccer games, the pumpkin patch, Baby Gage and Hawaii. Here are a few highlights. Gabe has started soccer this fall and LOVES it! He is such a good player and always leads his team to victory! I love getting to watch him and how excited he gets when he scores a goal.
I love this picture and Miss Hadley Mae. I am so lucky to have such cute nieces and nephews. She knows how to steal my heart. Here is the Soccer Allstar, Gabe! He is such a good soccer player. I love that you can see Matt in the background running with Gabers telling him to "Kick and run!"
Hadley is so proud of her brother!
We all took the kids to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin. We had such a fun time. Christiana was determined to pick up this pumpkin all by herself!
So many pumpkins to choose from!
Gotta love the hayride to get to the pumpkin patch!

Here is a picture of my birthday present. My new rug! I absolutely love it and it looks like it was designed for my kitchen! Thanks family! You are the best and I love it!
The arrival of Gage Wayne Denton (7lbs. 14 oz. 20.5") on September 22nd at 2:18pm. He is such a sweet, sweet baby! I love him and he is not even mine. My sister took some really precious shots of him (jbpphotography.com they are the one with the baby in the military helmet. They are so precious and tear jerking.) Cass is doing great and loves that boy more than she could ever imagine. I have had so much fun having my best friend back here. I just wish for her and her family's sake it for was different reasons.

I love the fall and can't wait for some more fun... to be continued!

My very own Home Makeover!

I finally grab the memory card from my roommate who documented our week of remodeling on my new house. We still haven't taken the "after pictures" but those will be coming very soon. I still have a rug to buy and have a few pictures to hang before I take the afters, but it is quite the difference. Here are some fun shots of us tearing out the UGLY carpet and tile. This project of removing all the flooring was not as nearly as horrible as I had imagined. Thanks to my GREAT friends and family who came to help me with this massive project.
THANK YOU AGAIN!
A lot of smiles during this project!
Lindsey & Erica painting bead board for the kitchen! Which turned out to my favorite wall in the house!
This would be me draining out the water so they boys could pull the toliet! Not the most glamourous job, but someone had to do it!
Here is a preview of some of the befores.... This is the nasty blue wall that was in my bedroom. Needless to say this wall is gone!
More to come very soon! All I can say, is that I am so glad that I am done with all of the big projects here at the house. Just have to finish the last few so I can relax and not feel quilty! Thanks again for everyone that helped me. I couldn't have done it without you!

A new homeowner!

Ladies and Gentlemen... It's official! I am a homeowner. After looking, looking and more looking I finally purchased a townhome in Taylorsville. I closed last Wednesday and have been spending ever minute in there remodeling and painting. It is ALMOST done! Thanks to all my wonderful friends and incredible family. My poor parents have spent every evening down at my place since I closed trying to get it ready for me to move in. My sweet Papa, even took off time from work to help me! I LOVE YOU, MOM & DAD! Ready or not... Move in day is TOMORROW! Me and 3 roommates are moving in. It is very exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. I will be excited to function on more than 4 hours of sleep a night and stop being covered in dirt and paint. I will put before and after shots of everything up once I am moved in!
