Lesson learned

After last week, at my very first Marching Band Competition,

It was clear to me that I must not pay attention,

I was only slightly astonished,

BUT

 I WILL TELL ABOUT IT. 

Ty and I made plans to spend the evening together.  

I thought that would mostly involve catching up on shows, watching him pack for Vegas and maybe dinner.

Well apparently, he had different plans in mind. 

The Davis High Marching Band Competition.

Anyone that knows me that I really know nothing about bands, marching bands or anything of the sort.  

I spent my high schools days with the choir and drama nerds... not the band geeks. 

You can tell by our texts, I have no idea what I am getting myself into.

Now, I will tell you I didn't really think through the next few things very well. 

Before leaving my house I put on sweatshirt and put on my Lancer Blue pants!  (Got to represent!)

I honestly thought it would be inside.  

The whole marching band inside thing didn't really compute. 

You would think if it was going to be outside he would be kind enough to say, 

"Hey MBest! It's going to be cold... make sure you bundle up!"

Nope. 

I get to his house and we hang out for a bit... I may have used the terminology of "band concert"

I was quickly corrected letting me know that we were going to a Marching Band Competition and NOT a Band Concert. 

To me and all the other non band geeks, those are the same thing! 

Then we made a quick stop at his parents house and that is where I was informed that it was outside.

Outside?!  

It was freezing and clearly I was not prepared to be outside for a long period of time. 

Tyler just gave me the look like I clearly should have known it was outside.    

Once again, drama and choir nerd.... not a band geek!

Davis may have taken 2nd place, 

but I had a first class Tuesday night. 

Life is about learning and trying new things.  

There were several valuable lessoned learned on this night:

1. A Band Concert and a Marching Band Competition are two different things.

2. Marching Bands will never compete inside.

3. Choir and drama nerds know nothing about the band world. 

4. Never trust a boy to give you all the details for a night.

5. A cup of 7-11 Hot Chocolate will make everything be better.

Always an adventure with this one.  

For those of you who have not attended a Marching Band Competition, I would highly recommend.  

Highly entertaining.... but don't forget to dress warm. 

Adventures of Skiing

Me and Miss May headed up to Brighton for a night full of fun filled skiing. It was quite the adventure. It was a fun time. I had not been skiing for a couple of years and Stacy hadn't been since high school. Before we knew it we were flying down the hill. We officially made it off the mountain with no falls... however there was a quite the show getting off the lift our final run. Apparently, when a snowboard is on the back of your ski's you are bound to cross on to someone elses ski's which ultimately caused Jim to be pushed into the crash bar. If we only would have had pictures. It was quite the sight and we are still laughing about it.

Next Destination Decided.

That's right. My next destination has officially been decided. I have wanted to go to Greece for quite sometime and every day it seems to be something I want to do more and more. (Amy, I also blame this on you seeing your pictures) So I am going to do it. I think (which I know he will come) I have talked my dear friend Branden to come with me. We will have a great time and I will get to see a country that completely fascinates me.

Seriously who wouldn't want to go here? I figure since I don't have kids or a husband. Why not? And I am off. It will take sometime to buy my flight but it will be worth every penny.

Greece 2010, here I come!

5 days in Hawaii and still have 4 more to go!

This post is mainly for my mama so she can see our adventures we have had so far in Hawaii. (Mama- be glad that you are not here. It is disgusting... really who would want to be here for this long? Be glad that you are in Utah. Really. I mean it.) This really has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I have been absolutely spoiled here and now never want to leave. So far I have been to the pool (everyday), tubing down the ditch, helicopter ride to see the island, seen many beautiful waterfalls, enjoyed some tasty tasty food and relaxed more than I ever thought possible. I have officially decided that I will be quitting my job and staying here forever. Now, I just need to find a rich Hawaiian to take care of me and give me a place to live. Here are so pictures of our adventure...

Adventures of Moving a Best Friend

The BEST part of summer has come! Cassia West Denton is back in UTAH! For anyone that knows me usually knows Cass, but if you haven't had the pleasure of meeting her in person you have heard lots and lots about her! I flew up to Washington to have a fun road trip back with Cass, Baby Gage and Indie. It was quite the adventure. Anytime "Cass & Mo" are together a good time will be had! We listened to Twilight, old favorite songs and talked about everything possible. We were able to pack up here apartment and put it all in her car! Pretty impressive. Okay, maybe not all of it... but what we couldn't fit her neighbor got or was taken to the dumpster. As you can see from the picture below there is not a lot of spare room. We would roll down the back windows to put our purses in! :)

Cass was such a good sport during the entire drive considerly her husband was just deployed for a year and she is 7 months prego! Before hitting the road we stopped by Pike's Market in Settle, Washington. Such a fun city!

All in all, we had a great time and I am so excited Cassie has decided to spend her year away from Ty in Utah. (Yes, I am incredible selfish when it comes to spending time with this girl!) Glad that the drive is done. I think we both underestimated the amount of time it would take us. With all the stops it took us just under 24 hours. A long time for a person not growing a baby in their belly much less a person who's "bun in the oven" is almost done! Washington is such a beautiful place. I can't wait to go back and visit Cass, Ty and Baby Gage when they return.

My very own Home Makeover!

I finally grab the memory card from my roommate who documented our week of remodeling on my new house. We still haven't taken the "after pictures" but those will be coming very soon. I still have a rug to buy and have a few pictures to hang before I take the afters, but it is quite the difference. Here are some fun shots of us tearing out the UGLY carpet and tile. This project of removing all the flooring was not as nearly as horrible as I had imagined. Thanks to my GREAT friends and family who came to help me with this massive project.
