Lake Powell: 2014

For the record, when you have only been home for 6 days from Europe and you decide to drive down to Lake Powell for the weekend... you are officially crazy.

Tyler called on Wednesday and our discussion went a little something like this....
Ty: "are you working on Friday?"
me: "uhhhh, yes.  I haven't worked a full week since June."
Ty: "Why start now.  You're taking Friday off."
me: "You do realize I just got back from 2 weeks in Europe, right?"
Ty: "Yes. And we are going to Lake Powell for the weekend."
me: "Done!"
We left SLC around 12:00am and drove all night.  We arrived just in time for sunrise.

Our weekend consisted of laying out.
Surfing.
Cliff jumping.
Eating.
Lounging.
Reading.
More laying out.
Swimming.
Saturday was a little bit of a bummer.
A storm came in and we didn't get on the water once.
We napped.
We played games.
We ate more snacks.
It's always an adventure with this one.  We have a great time together.
Lake Powell... until 2015

2012 Recap

2012 was a great year.

For what started out a rocky year,
with losing my job 3 days prior to the year beginning,
turned out to be a year to never be forgotten.

Year of Dreams lived up to it name.
It was a year of growth.
 A year of love.
 A year of new relationships.
A year of travel.
A year of laughter.
A year that I am so grateful to have had.

In the last 365 days I have learned so much about myself,
realized what I want my future to look like
and what direction I need to go to get there.

2013 has big shoes to fill.
Thank you 2012 for being so kind to me!

Summer has arrived

There is no better way to start summer then heading to Lake Powell for 5 days!
I was lucky enough to receive an invite from my friend, Tyler who had put together a trip.
You say Powell and I am in with very few questions asked.

Although I was a little nervous to go because I only knew 2 people in the group,
I am SO GLAD I went.
I met some wonderful people.
Enjoyed time in the sun.
Boated our hearts out.
And laughed until I couldn't breathe.

Anyone that has spent extended time on a house boat knows you can get a little cabin fever at night.
Thanks to whoever packed these furry green gems because
they provided many laughs and quite the photo shoot.

Five days together can also bring on some funny jokes.
Thanks to the warm sun most of us were up around 7:00am.
This particular morning we had woken up around 5:30am
and Ry'Lee nicely told us to roll over and go back to sleep.
We all listened especially, Tyler.
A few of us only slept for another hour or so because it was getting so warm.
Somehow, Tyler fell into a super deep sleep so as each once of us woke up
we carefully put our blankets on him.
Needless to say, when Ty finally stumbled downstairs he was dripping with sweat and quite confused.
Thanks to our early morning wake ups, Coke: Thirty was in order!
Our last day did not disappoint.
I was determined to push myself and learn something new on the wake board.
I can now go outside wake both on my toe AND heel edge!
Even after a couple of good falls, I'm still smiling!
(For all you pros out there, be nice!  It was something new I had never learned before)

Look at this water below, it was perfect!
(And Tyler's short shorts make it that much better)

Once again, Lake Powell did not disappoint.
Until next time....

Lake Powell

What you do you get when you combined 150 people, 3 houseboats, 14 wakeboarding boats, 4 days and Lake Powell?
A REALLY GOOD TIME!
Erin, Stacy and I went on a trip to Lake Powell this last weekend. We had an amazing time! Lake Powell is a little piece of heaven. I could be down there everyday and never get sick of it.
Thanks to going there is July, it was pretty darn hot during the day. The made swimming party's mandatory! So this was us for the majority of the time. Or being on the boat. I was quite the "rope girl" During our first afternoon out on the boats, I went wakeboarding. I was having a really difficult time getting up. (which was making me just plain angry) So I finally got up and started to go outside the wake and caught my toe edge and it caused quite the wreck. You can see that my leg is bruised. But this picture does not even give it justice. I don't think I have ever hit the water that hard in my life. I actually thought I had chipped a tooth. Thank goodness I did not. But man am I still feeling this epic crash! My mom told me one thing multiple times! "DO NOT GET BURNED!" So I am proud to say mom, I didn't get burned. Too bad Stacy can't say the same. Meet Erin, she is a 26 year old going on 97. She is too darn funny. She has the cutest little Grandma scream and asked one day when we were riding in the front of the boat if she should put on a life jacket. Mind you, she can swim. I just started to laugh and asked if she thought she was REALLY going to be thrown from the boat. She responded, "you just never know!" Oh Erin. You are too funny!
This is me and Era. One morning we decided to hit the lake at 6 am with a small group. Of course the morning we go out it is absolutely FREEZING. This was us the entire way on the boat. Needless to say, we did not wakeboard this morning.
On Sunday morning, we went on a site seeing adventure. For those of you who have not been to Lake Powell. Start planning a trip. It is incredible. 180 miles wide and 1,200 miles of shoreline. AMAZING!
Erin got a little sleepy on our site seeing adventure.May really really loves me. And this pictures shows just how much!
Once again, mom! I did not get burned! And Stacy yet again can't say the same thing.
No burns here... just a golden tan!
At this point in the trip. We were so grateful to be heading home to a real shower and our beds. I went straight home and started a load of laundry and climbed into the best shower of my life!
Lake Powell 2011 you did not disappoint!
