2013: Recap

The reason I started this blog was to keep up with some dear friends that moved across the country.
Now, it is for me.
I like to be able to look back at things that I have done or places of my life.
I have always done a recap of the year. (2010, 2011, 2012)
Last year, I did a video.
It's even more fun to watch and remember certain moments of the year.

Here is 2013's Recap, video style.

2013 has been a year of growth for me.
I'm proud to say I have learned a lot and ready to put the lessons into actions.

Here is to 2014.

Another year as a proud Ute

Like any great family, we have a rivalry that makes this week so fun!
I am sad to admit the red wearers are getting out numbered by those darn cougars.
I will still hold strong for my team!
My lucky shirt worked its charm this year again!
Porter was a little torn which team to cheer for.
He really wanted the stickers on his face so he represented the Y but wore red all day!
Watched the game with this pretty lady and cheered with all the other fellow Ute fans!
A sweet victory to be in a room full of die hard fans!

Another year I'm proud that we beat those kitty cats from down south!

Go Utes!

A girls night out to the Utes Gymnatics meet.
Haddie is quite the tumbler and Natalie thought it would be a fun thing for her to watch.
She loved it.
But not as much as suckering her Auntie into a new outfit.
Good thing she is so darn cute in it!

2012 Recap

2012 was a great year.

For what started out a rocky year,
with losing my job 3 days prior to the year beginning,
turned out to be a year to never be forgotten.

Year of Dreams lived up to it name.
It was a year of growth.
 A year of love.
 A year of new relationships.
A year of travel.
A year of laughter.
A year that I am so grateful to have had.

In the last 365 days I have learned so much about myself,
realized what I want my future to look like
and what direction I need to go to get there.

2013 has big shoes to fill.
Thank you 2012 for being so kind to me!

Go UTES

My first Utah game for the season was courtesy of my pals, Talia and TJ,
who kindly gave me and Tyler their tickets.
This was Tyler's first Utah game, since he may be a fan of an unnamed team down South.
We headed up to the game shortly after Sophia's baptism.

Tyler pretended like he wasn't excited to be cheering for the Utes.
But in reality he wore red ALL on his own.
Referred to the Utes as "our" team.
And was singing the Utah Fight Song.

The game was a complete blow out for Utah.
Within the first 11 seconds of the second half, Utah scored yet again another touch down.
It made for lots of cheering, fight song singing and all around fun afternoon.

With our current winter weather, I'm real glad I was able to go to the game and cheer on my favorite team before our great state was covered in white.
Thanks again pals, for our tickets!

Once again... It's Great to be a UTE!

Football season is here and my Utes are making me proud.
Typically, the much anticipated Utah vs. BYU game, is the last of the season.
But thanks to the Utes going to the Pac12 and BYU going independent it was moved up earlier this year.  (my frozen legs would have great appreciated that move last year as we were standing in snow)
There is always a lot of hype on this game and people's ugly side comes out.  After my experience going to the Cougar stadium 2 years ago, I decided I was better staying in SLC.  Now, after seeing the results  I wish I would have been there.
The final score was 54 - 10 Utah
Talk about embarrassing!  This was this highest all time rivarly game since 1988!  Way to go, Utes!

In honor of rivarly week I decided to play a prank on my brother, Matt.  He is a BYU season ticket holder and loves the Cougars. The day before the game I thought I would have a little fun with him and put his tickets for the game up for sell.  Needless to say in 23 minutes the ad had over 68 views and his phone was ringing off the hook!
My only reply to him... was GO UTES!

I enjoyed watching the game with Ashley and Blake.  By the middle of the third quarter we were ALL laughing so hard at the amount of turnovers and how the Cougars just weren't playing.  I'm glad it was their team and not ours that did that!  My sister, Natalie and I kept calling my Mom during the game to talk about her teams poor performance.  My last call, she answered the phone, "... you better be nice or I'm just hanging up the phone!"  I could hardly hang up the phone before I was calling her again!  My mom sure is a good sport with me and Natalie!
Even though the game did not have quite as an exciting ending as last year!  It was a fun game to watch!
I'm proud to wear RED!
I am a UTE!

The best 4 seconds

The awaited Saturday for the U of U vs BYU finally arrived. Thanks to our early and bitterly cold winter it made for a very long and miserable game. Rach and I kept debating to we leave so we can get feeling in our feet? We knew if we did that we would miss a very epic ending.... and that's exactloy what would have happened. We decided who needs to feel their feet? It took a while for the Utes to give us something to cheer about. But once 4th quarter hit that stadium was ALIVE! With 4 minutes left of the game the Utes pulled ahead for the first time of the game. Fastfoward to the last 4 seconds of the game. BYU has the ball and were going to kick the "winning field goal" of so they thought. The Utes blocked their field goal and took the victory! The stadium was going WILD! I don't think I had ever been so cold in my entire life and we still had another half of the game.

Funny story: After the BIG WIN, a big majority of the Utes fans decided to go on the field. I'm not sure how I pictured the fans getting on the field. But jumping down a 10 foot wall was not it. Once we had got to that point it was too late to turn around. So Rachael, Branden and I made the plunge. I don't know if I was at the edge again if I could do it again. But thanks to the great victory and not being able to feel my feet it made it pretty simple. The moral of the story. Do your research of how you will have to get on the field before you say, "we are going down there. Let's go!"
One more day it feels great to wear RED! GO UTES!

Halloween Fun!

I absolutely love Halloween.
I love dressing up.
I love the smell of the cold air.
I love decorations.
I love scary movies.
I love haunted houses.
I LOVE everything about the month of October.
I had many fun Halloween Celebrations this last weekend. We had the University of Phoenix trick or treat event on Thursday. There wasn't as many costumes or trick or treaters, but we still had a great time!
Phoenix's very own Ladybug and Witch Some of my favorite people from work.
Friday, October 30th my little Sophia turned 5 years old. She is no longer my sweet little girl. She is 5! For her birthday in Warnas fashion we partied like it was 1999. Sophia had pizza and bowling at Fat Cats. It was so much fun bowling with the whole family. The whole family loved it.
I love my sisters!
Me, the papa and Christiana
The Birthday girl and her Aunts. She was so sassy this night. It was so funny!
Dylan needed some Aunt Mo love! I love that he isn't too big to get some love from his Auntie.
Soph and her witch cake!
We love our Papa!
Soph said "Big smiles because it is my birthday!' So that is just what we did!
After Fat Cats, I went and got "witched out" and headed to Classic Skating for Talia's sister 30th birthday party. It was a great party.
Talia and TJ were Dr. Seuss's Thing 1 and Thing 2
Best pals!
Saturday, I spent my night cheering on the Utes with my friends: Jillian, Shaun and Richael. It was a great night with great people. We had a night full of many laughs and so glad we were able to have a night of fun.
Thanks for the win... Keep it up, Utes!
Our night ended going to a LAME haunted house. But we had a good time laughing at all the empty rooms and crazy kids working there.
Until next year October. Come back quick!

Let the season begin!

You can smell it in the air.
The UofU football season has officially began!
Way to go, Utes to start us off for a great season.
Me and Branden at a game last year. Thanks to him I am able to go to many games and sport some nice Ute clothing! Thanks Branden! Here is me and my sister Natalie (I am almost convinced she has gone to the dark side) last year at the Utah vs. BYU game where once again it was a great day to be a Ute instead of a kitty cat.
GO UTES! GO UTES! GO UTES!
