My Papa is free!

The countdown is over. Big Earl has gone fishing.... for good! The end of September my Dad finished his last day at Lagoon and proudly retired. It was a day that he had been looking forward to. Two days later he was off to Canada to kill some geese. Nothing is going to keep him home! My Papa is one of the hardest working people I know. He has worked for Lagoon for 39 years and has met many friends working there. When I think of my childhood, there aren't very many memories that don't include Lagoon and my Papa. One of my favorite things to do with him was go out to Lagoon and stay until it closed when he was the "Executive on Duty". I would walk around all night with him and he was always nice and let me go on a few rides. The night would always include a tasty treat of some sort. Good times!

He will be missed by many out at Lagoon but he is SO excited to finally be done working and now only doing the things he wants! Good luck to anything that flies, swims or has 4 legs. You will most likely meet Big Earl soon and it probably won't end well for you!
Happy Retirement, Daddy!
